- Status: SB 1227 signed March 26, 2026, effective July 1, 2026. Directs Idaho Department of Education to develop statewide framework for generative AI in K-12 public education.
- Signals: Binding state law but directed at the Department of Education — obligations fall on state agency, not private-sector AI developers or deployers directly.
- Trajectory: Evaluate whether vendor/deployer obligations (e.g., disclosure, safety, procurement requirements) flow to private sector. If so, promote as a sector-specific education entry. Otherwise exclude as wrong-audience (E4).
